UFC 321 Main Card Preview

Aleksandar Rakic vs. Azamat Murzakanov

Rakic has a massive height advantage. Aleksandar is 6’4″ while Murzakanov is 5’10”. But Rakic is on a three-fight losing streak.

However, the losses were against top competition: Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka, and Magomed Ankalaev. Murzakanov is undefeated at 15-0, but this is a step up in class. Rakic ends the losing streak.

UFC 321 Pick: Aleksandar Rakic

Alexander Volkov vs. Jailton Almeida

The odds are where they should be. Even though Volkov has a four-inch height advantage, Almeida has been in decent form when winning 4-of-5.

Volkov heads into this off a split decision loss to Gane. Cyril fights in the main event. So the loss via split decision bodes well for his chances against Almeida. Taking a shot on Volkov to get it done.

UFC 321 Pick: Alexander Volkov

Umar Nurmegomedov vs. Mario Bautista

Look for a prop in this one. Bautista is a good fighter. You don’t show up on a UFC Main Card unless you can battle. But Nurmegomedov is much better.

Unless Umar shows up out of shape and for some reason can’t provide his best, the fave should have no trouble handing the dog. Look to play a victory via stoppage, either submission or knockout, over Nurmagomedov.

UFC 321 Pick: Umar Nurmegomedov

Virna Jandiroba vs. Mackenzie Dern // UFC Women’s Strawweight Title

In the co-main event, a couple of tough mixed martial artists throw down for the Women’s Strawweight Title. Dern is the slight favorite, but Jandiroba offers low enough odds to suggest she’s got a shot.

There are a few opportunities to back the underdogs on this main card. So we have to take the odds when we can. Making a case for Jandiroba isn’t difficult since she hasn’t lost since 2021, and that was via unanimous decision to Amanda Ribas. Throw in a decision outcome if you’re looking at parlays.

UFC 321 Pick: Virna Jandiroba

Tom Aspinall vs. Cyril Gane // UFC Heavyweight Title

Aspinall is elite. Gane isn’t. That’s the bottom line in the Heavyweight Title Fight on Saturday night.

The -400 favorite has looked the part in his last two title defenses. He’s 11-1 via TKO/KO and 4-1 via submission. Gane’s split decision victory over Volkov in his last wasn’t a confidence builder. Look for Aspinall to end this early, handing Gane just his second stoppage loss.

UFC 321 Pick: Tom Aspinall
