A month into the 2025 College Football Season, and it’s apparent that what we thought we had during the offseason is different from reality. The Big Ten and SEC are loaded, but not in the way we thought. Oklahoma looks like a much better squad than Texas and USC, a Big Ten doormat last season, is back to the glory days. Texas Tech vs. Utah
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 12:00 p.m. ET

This week’s top matchup pits a couple of Big 12 contenders. The Texas Tech Red Raiders had one of the best portal transfer seasons of all time. The Red Raiders are a much different team than they were in 2024.
But Utah boasts a serious player at quarterback in Devon Dampier. The 5’11” QB has thrown for 628 yards and 7 TDs with zero picks in Utah’s first three games. Dampier is completing 73% of his passes. Utes cover.

Auburn vs. Oklahoma
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 3:30 p.m. ET
- strong>College Football Week 4 Odds: Auburn +185 / Oklahoma -250
The line is an underlay. Auburn is a quality team, one that will challenge Oklahoma early, but the Sooners have the soon-to-be Heisman Trophy winner on their side in former WASU Cougar John Mateer.
Not only that, but Brett Venables D is playing like a top unit. Oklahoma is for real, and it will show on the football field.

Michigan vs. Nebraska
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 3:30 p.m. ET

It’s difficult to be impressed by the Wolverines after victories over New Mexico and Central Michigan and a loss against Oklahoma. The Maize and Blue face a solid squad that has picked it up in their last two games.
Dylan Railoa will be the best QB on the field. So the Huskers have an edge at the game’s most crucial position. Consider the ML.

South Carolina vs. Missouri
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 7:00 p.m. ET

The Gamecocks’ 31-7 loss to Vanderbilt was stunning. South Carolina lost to the Commodores at home. Are they a paper tiger?
It looks that way. Still, a bounce back could be in order because Vandy is a quality program, and the Mizzou Tigers haven’t beaten much this season. Gamecocks get the cover victory.
2025 College Football Week 4 Pick: South Carolina +13.5
Illinois vs. Indiana
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 7:30 p.m. ET
- strong>College Football Week 4 Odds: Illinois +165 / Indiana -217
Saturday’s other matchup of ranked teams pits Top 10 Illinois on the road versus Top 20 Indiana. Of the two, the Illini looks like the better squad. Indiana could be as good as advertised, but the Illini have a fantastic 45-19 road victory over quality Duke on their record.
Indiana has beaten Old Dominion, which scored 14 in a 27-14 win, and also defeated Kennesaw State and Indiana State. This is another potential ML play.
2025 College Football Week 4 Pick: Illinois +3.5
Michigan State vs. USC
- When: Saturday, September 20th. 11:00 p.m. ET

The line says it all. USC wouldn’t be close to -16.5 faves versus MSU in 2024.
Lincoln Riley has found a way. Granted, the team hasn’t played anybody worth mentioning, but the scoring has come quickly and in bunches. MSU is 3-0. Ah, but Sparty gave up 40 points to Boston College. How many points will USC score on Saturday? Laying the points makes some sense, but if USC’s D doesn’t step up, the Spartans will post some points. So over 55.5 is the play.
