2025 US Open Betting Preview

By Hank Blaine

The 2025 US Open begins this week. On the men’s side, all eyes will be on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The budding rivals have traded barbs in the last couple of major tournaments, with Alcaraz winning at Roland-Garros and Sinner taking Wimbledon. Who wins the final major of the year? On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka is the lukewarm favorite at +250, followed by Iga Swiatek at +340 and 2023 winner Coco Gauff at +700. Keep reading for tennis odds, analysis, and free picks for the 2025 US Open Tournament.

2025 US Open Event Information

  • When: Monday, August 18 – September 7
  • Where: USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, New York City, NY
  • TV / Live Stream: ESPN/ESPN+/ABC

2025 US Open Men’s Singles Odds to Win

  • Jannik Sinner -110
  • Carlos Alcaraz +210
  • Novak Djokovic +1600
  • Blake Shelton +2000
  • Alexander Zverev +2200
  • Jack Draper +2200
  • Taylor Fritz +2700
  • Daniil Medvedev +5000

At the Cincinnati Open, a key prep event for the US Open, Carlos Alcaraz beat Sinner in the final. There’s an asterisk to the victory because Sinner bowed out due to illness. When he’s one hundred percent, Sinner is tough to beat.

The world’s top-ranked tennis player has the tools to win his second straight major tournament. As has been the case all year, Alcaraz is Sinner’s top rival in New York. After Sinner and Alcaraz, the ageless Novak Djokovic will attempt to get it done. Other contenders include Alexander Zverev and tough Blake Shelton.

2025 US Open Men’s Singles Top Pick

Sinner beat Alcaraz at Wimbledon, but, and we can’t overlook this, it was Sinner’s first victory in the rivalry in the last five head-to-head matches. Also, Wimbledon plays over grass, which isn’t Alcaraz’s best surface.

Carlos excels when he can glide over the hardcourt, as seen at the US Open or on clay. The former US Open winner was exceptional and on point in Cincinnati. Even if Sinner hadn’t left the court, Alcaraz had a good shot at the win. Give Alcaraz the nod over the top seed.

2025 US Open Men’s Singles Underdog Pick

Alexander Zverev made the US Open Final in 2020. Since then, things haven’t worked out for Zverev in the Big Apple. That could change this year.

The world’s third-ranked player beat Blake Shelton at the final of the BMW Open in April. At the Cincinnati Open last week, Zverev made it to the semifinals, where he played a terrific match against Alcaraz.

The top pick beat Zverev in straight sets, but the underdog won 4 games in the first set and 3 in the second. If Alcaraz isn’t at the top of his game and Sinner’s illness remains a burden, Zverev could score the victory at a sweet 22-to-1.

2025 US Open Women’s Singles Odds to Win

  • Aryna Sabalenka +250
  • Iga Swiatek +340
  • Coco Gauff +700
  • Elena Rybakina +1000
  • Mirra Andreeva +1400
  • Naomi Osaka +1900
  • Madison Keys +2200
  • Amanda Anisimova +2500
  • Jessica Pegula +3000

Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka heads to New York as a solid +250 chalk. Sabalenka has scored three tournament wins in 2025. But before jumping on Aryna at short odds, it’s important to note that none of Sabalenka’s victories happened in a major tournament.

Not only that, but Sabalenka bowed out in the quarterfinals at the Cincinnati Open last week. She’s vulnerable at the odds.

Iga Swiatek is a better player. However, like Sabalenka, Swiatek hasn’t taken home a major tournament trophy in 2025. But Swiatek won the Cincinnati Open and heads to New York hot.

2023 US Open winner Coco Gauff scored a trophy pick-up at Roland-Garros this year. At Wimbledon, Gauff lost in the first round. Coco made it to the quarterfinals at the Cincinnati Open, though, a bounce-back performance that makes her worth a look.

2025 US Open Women’s Singles Top Pick

Coco Gauff peaked at the French Open when scoring a nice victory at Roland-Garros. She hit the bottom of her form cycle at Wimbledon and appears ready to climb back to the top after playing excellent tennis at the Cincinnati Open.

Coco wasn’t at her top game in Cincinnati. That’s the point, though. The Cincy Open serves as preparation for the US Open. So Gauff held back in some of her matches, knowing she had to be one hundred percent in New York. Give Gauff a big shot to score a nice victory at better than decent 7-to-1 odds.

2025 US Open Women’s Singles Underdog Pick

Earlier in the year, 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva won back-to-back tournaments when taking down Clara Tauson at the finals of the Dubai Duty Free and then upsetting Aryna Sabalenka in the finals at the BNP Paribas Open.

Andreeva is ready to break out with a stellar performance. She already has a double win at the US Open with doubles partner Daniil Medvedev after knocking off Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovic in the first round.

The 14-to-1 shot has energy in surplus and would love another crack at Coco Gauff, who beat Andreeva at the Mutua Madrid Open and the BNL d’Italia. Taking a shot on the teenager makes sense.
